How do I make a booking on the website?

Select the Availability and Bookings Menu and then purchase nights using the calenders displayed. Dates that are shaded green are unavailable.

How do I gain access to Lookout Lodge when I arrive?

You will have been e-mailed a four-digit Access Code within 15 minutes of making your purchase of accommodation online. We suggest you print out this Access Code and bring it with you. Simply press the hash # key on the electronic key pad at the main door of Lookout Lodge and then enter your four-digit Access Code. Wait for the blue light to flash (usually 1 - 2 seconds) then open the door. This means you have the freedom to come and go as you please without having to involve anyone else - easy!!!!

What do I need to bring with me to Lookout Lodge?

Simply your clothing/personal effects and food and drink. There will be a limited number of small sachets of UHT milk, tea and coffee, however if you have a large party or if you are staying more than one night you may need to purchase fresh milk etc sufficient for your stay. No meals are provided and facilities for buying food in the Port Arthur area are limited to two supermarkets in Nubeena, 6kms away and the Port Arthur General Store. The opening times for the Port Arthur General Store are 8am - 5pm. The opening times for the supermarkets in Nubeena are ???? A cheaper alternative is to stock up at the Woolworths supermarket in Sorrell on your left past McDonalds as you leave Sorrell along the Arthur Highway.

What happens if I have an emergency during my stay?

You need to phone 000 to summon the Police, Fire Service or Ambulance service. If it is something serious, but not an emergency you can phone 0427949867 to contact the caretaker. Please phone us only for urgent matters.

Will I see any wildlife during my stay?

Undoubtedly you will see Rabbits and Wallabies (like a small kangaroo) grazing on the lawn, especially in the late afternoon/evening. You may also see Elvis (our resident Wombat) if you are lucky. A word of caution if you are driving around the Port Arthur area after dark - drive slowly and carefully as Wallabies have no road sense - they are just as likely to run into your path than out of your path!!!

What have other people written in the guest book about staying at Lookout Lodge?

"A fantastic place - shame we didn't discover it sooner, for longer - wonderful outlook, relaxing time..." 14/2/07 "This has been fantastic! From great barbecue to watching the changing lights of the panoramic view. We loved all the outdoor furniture outside and the four settees inside as we all had somewhere comfortable to sit and relax. The beds are so comfortable that if it wasn't for the view we would have all stayed in bed..." 26/1/06 "Thanks for an experience of a lifetime. The view is amazing and the house is a dream. Staying here was the highlight of our holiday. See you again soon." 16/2/07
